I’m a systems engineer by trade, but this page isn’t really about that. It’s more of a personal space where I write down a few things about who I am, what I like, and what I spend my time on outside of work.
I was born in Gothenburg, although I've also spent some years living in Tanum during my later school years. Now I live in the greater Gothenburg area with my two boys, Alexander and Maximilian. A lot of life naturally revolves around them -- school runs, homework support, standing by the sidelines at football practice.
Most of my days are somewhere between computers, problem-solving, and tinkering with systems. I've long been drawn to understanding how things work -- taking them apart, improving them, and sometimes just appreciating the design. I’ve been a computer and electronics geek for as long as I can remember. My interest really took off when I was 10, after my mother signed me up for a basic programming course through a local study association. I'm still grateful she did. That interest never really went away. I still enjoy programming, soldering, and building small devices -- sometimes useful, sometimes completely unnecessary.
In my free time, I like experimenting with technology, whether that means working with Linux, trying different setups, customizing and extending Emacs, or automating small things just because I can.
I’ve also gone through a fair share of sports over the years. Running and ultimate frisbee used to take up a lot of my time. These days, I’m more into table tennis and dancing lindy hop, which turned out to be a completely different kind of challenge -- less about performance, more about timing, rhythm, and not stepping on someone's feet. Another part of the appeal is the fierce social energy at the dance club.
Chess is another long-standing interest. My father introduced me to it at a very early age, and it’s remained one of those interests that I still return to. These days it’s mostly the occasional online game, but the appeal is still much the same -- the combination of patience, strategy, and quiet concentration.
